ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Imagen
Hi again Well, I always enjoy to have english classes, at school and here, at university so it's don't a problem for me go and practice this language. In the case of my experience learning English at university I think that was very productive but I believe that the department would have to be careful in not repeat the same “topics”. The last thing I want to do is criticize because the two English professors that I have in this university are very good at teaching and nice persons, but I consider that they teach me very similar things in both English, but I think that it’s not the professor’s fault, only a program’s fault. In this semester, with professor Benjamin I realized about my problem using “it” and “to”, something that maybe you can thing that it’s too easy or basic, but I always forget to write them in EVERY post that I share with you and I didn’t know that I always fell in that until now and I think that the only and the best solution for this it is be more ...

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAM

Imagen
Hi everyone, How are you? Today I’m going to write about some changes that I consider relevant to do in my study program. The truth I don’t know very much about other universities with anthropology and their study programs so I can’t compare, but I think the curriculum or subjects that impart in this university are good and complete because we learn the necessary things to be good anthropologists, but maybe it would be good that the professors teach us or bring us closer to what will be our professional field and not only postulates, theories, etc. About the building facilities, in my opinion is the best thing that the department have, is new and big so I don’t have complaints about it, I like it (I refer to the "aularios" or big classrooms because we have classes only there, not in facso jjj)  J the use of technology it’s ok, all the professors that I have use digital methods for teach us, like PowerPoints, videos and always use the “u-cursos” platform for every annou...

MY VACATION PLANS

Imagen
Hi again, Now I'm going to talk about my vacation plans. About my winter vacation, I want to go to Arica to see my mom, my brother, my pets and my friends and then I hope to go to Iquique and see my father and my other brother and take many walks on the beach. I miss them a lot because it is very expensive to travel to Arica in airplane because it is far away and in a bus I have to travel about 30 hours and I hate this, so I go to my city very little and I don't see my family frequently. And about my summer vacation I don’t have a plan but the last 4 years I traveled with my friends to different places like Bolivia, Peru, Brazil or inside Chile and I hope that this summer vacation will not be the exception so I'm raising money for this and I plan to find a job in the second semester to raise more money and travel to any place, but if I don’t raise the necessary amount to go to a very great place like Ecuador or go back to Brazil for example I will wait jej it is not...

MY PETS

Imagen
Hi everyone, Today i’m going to talk about my pets. Well, I have 4 pets: 3 dogs and 1 cat. The dogs name are Polilla, Pancha and Bascur, like the rapper from Chile and the cat name is Chuchuca, like the Axe Bahía song. About Polilla and Chuchuca I found them in the street when they are just a babies and I beg to my parents with my little brother to adopt them and they accept. Pancha is from my mom and it’s the oldest one, she have 8 years old and Bascur is a weiner dog that my uncle gives me. They live in Arica (my native city) with my mom so since I left my home for my university studies I see them in the winter and the summer vacations L but I really take advantage of this time so I take them out for a walk and everything they need or they like. The truth is that I miss a lot my pets but I can’t do anything while I don’t finish the university, but as soon as I finish my studies I will come back to Arica or I hope so. Sometimes I think about adopt a mouse or a rat because since...

Postgraduate Studies

Imagen
Hi professor and classmates J , Today I will write about Postgraduate Studies or Masters. The truth, it is very difficult for me to write about this topic because I never think about this before because I try to live without thinking in the things (like “formal” things) that I want to do in the future… it is very stressful for me, I don’t know very well why, but I suppose that I will take any course about Anthropology or Archeology to increase my knowledge, because I want to be a really good worker and I want to have more possibilities to find a good job and I guess if I don’t take any Postgraduate Studies or Masters it will be very hard to get these things that I mentioned. Like I said in my last post in the blog, I think that I will go to the social area so I will like to study any subject related to this “part” of the Anthropology and obviously, if  I can, take this subjects abroad, especially if it’s in Spain or Brazil, because I like so much the form that these countries...

MY FUTURE JOB

Imagen
Hi professor and classmates, today I will write about what I intend to do in the future related to a job. First of all I study Anthropology, so when I get my degree I want to look for a job in this area. I don’t   know yet if I will go to Social Anthropology or to the Archeology area , but in both cases I want to work outdoors, because I think that is a little boring and useless work as an Anthropologist indoors all the time… you have to stay in the “field”. If I finally decide to go to the social area (I think that is the most probable situation), I want to work in something related to public polices and help society as much as I can. Obviously, if I can, I want to travel a lot because I enjoy very much going to new places and meet new people, but until now it is not one of the most important things that I expect about the job. Besides, I neither expect many wonderful things about my salary, in fact I don’t imagine me receiving a lot of money but I choose this career knowing tha...
